Bonus Episode: Ella Vos
Man, it’s such a joy that the last bonus episode of the season is with an old friend of mine, the incomparable Ella Vos. Ella is a pop singer-songwriter who’s one of the most resilient people I’ve ever met. From intense heartbreaks to battling a cancer diagnosis while building a music career….Ella’s been through a lot, and yet the way she’s able to be a shining light in the face of all this darkness has been mystifying to me. Especially in the context of these last few years with the pandemic, where naturally, we’ve all found ourselves reassessing our lives and what matters to us the most.
For Ella, it was a reaffirmation that her passion for music could not only grow but also wholly reflect the journey she’s been on, which has been a journey of deep self-acceptance and self-love. No, not that Yankee Candle kind of self-love, I mean the real self-love that comes from embracing all your flaws, by really looking life in the face and saying "you won’t break me.” That’s who Ella is, and the evidence is all across her new music. On this episode, we chat all about this, along with how she rediscovered her groove, and how she’s been living life in a more positive way. We also explore what it’s been like being a mother while navigating the ridiculousness of the music industry.
After you hear the episode, be sure to check out Ella Vos’s new track, Glitter and Tears on the official New Exchange Playlist. Also, be sure to follow Ella Vos on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
