Simply put: Mannequin Pussy are a badass punk band from Philadelphia that takes no prisoners. A good portion of their songs can be viewed as a crusade towards ignorance, with a piercing aim towards people who oppose Black Lives Matter, LGBTQ+ rights, the rights of disabled people, etc. Having music with a strong moral compass isn’t a new phenomenon, but the way Mannequin Pussy put their beliefs at the forefront does feel unique, exhilarating, and vital.

On today’s bonus episode, I chat with Missy and Bear of the band, and together we chat about the hard work that went into building their blistering live show, reflecting on their standout album, Patience, and why it’s crucial for Mannequin Pussy to give a shit about the world around them.
