And So I Watch You From Afar

And So I Watch you From Afar are a band that’s made Northern Ireland proud again and again. Throughout their five albums, they’ve perfected their signature meld of tranquility and ferocity with their instruments. I’ve known them for over a decade now and view them as brothers. A memory I hold dearly is being present during the making of their fifth album, The Endless Shimmering, which was recorded at Machines With Magnets in Rhode Island. People hear the word ‘band’ and immediately think of frivolousness but knowing the guys has taught me how much hard work, business savvy, and dedication it takes to make a band work. Within this episode, I caught up with guitarists Rory Friers and Niall Kennedy. Together we chat about that dedication, as well as the evolution of the band.

This episode is dedicated to Andrew Dunbar, who we talk about extensively during the second half of the podcast. If you’re reading this and finding yourself feeling down, please seek out professional consul. Please talk to someone and know that you’re not alone.
