The people I respect the most are people who’re able to change their lives; regardless of the obstacles in front of them. My friend Sulene is a composer who originally hails from South Africa and now calls Brooklyn her home. Throughout the years she’s honed her skills as both a songwriter and performer; touring with artists such as Nate Ruess, Betty Who and LPX. She’s even performed in front of President Barack Obama (seriously!). On this episode we chat about what it’s like to be a professional musician, her stellar Fire Escaping EP (out now) and just catch up as friends.

Follow Sulene on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

My favourite episodes are the ones where I get to catch up with friends and this one is a prime example. Sulene is an example of one of my absurdly talented friends. She's a composer from South Africa that now calls Brooklyn her home.
