Summer Bonus: Ken Grand-Pierre?
So, here’s the thing; it hit me a few months back that I should re-introduce myself, and what better way than to have a friend interview me? When I launched this podcast back in 2020, the main idea and hope were to have the episodes solely focus on the guests. But the thing about podcasting is it innately requires the listener to feel a connection to the host, and with that, I imagine some of you have asked yourselves: “but wait, who the fuck even is Ken Grand-Pierre?”
The short of it: I’m a photographer based in New York that’s traveled the US and Europe working with some of your favourite musicians. Through those experiences, I went from a piercingly quiet teenager to a man that feels most at home around people from different walks of life. And I know what you’re probably thinking; how does any of that explain the existence of this podcast? Well, that’s what this episode aims to tackle.
To help with this, I recruited my friend and fellow photographer, Toby Tenenbaum, to interview me about how this podcast came to be, why it’s important to me, and what inspires my belief that everyone has a story to tell.
Before we start, I’m happy to share that season 5 of the podcast will be kicking off on September 20th! Be sure to subscribe where ever you listen to podcasts & to also rate/leave a review over at Apple Podcasts. Rating and reviewing seriously helps us independent creators tremendously and I’d massively appreciate it if you took the time to do so.
After you hear the episode, be sure to check out Toby’s photography here and also give him a follow on Instagram. You can also check out my work and musings on Instagram and Twitter.
