Summer Bonus: Villagers
And we arrive at the final summer bonus podcast! I couldn’t be happier to share that today’s chat is with my old friend, Conor O’Brien of the Irish band Villagers. The evolution of Villagers has been such a fascinating thing to witness throughout the years. Each album has both raw passion and intricate instrumentation that covers a wide spectrum of emotions. Their latest album, Fever Dreams (out now), is a continuation of Conor’s hunger for experimenting with sounds that leaves listeners feeling as though they’ve been transported elsewhere.
I’ve been looking forward to this chat for a long time, Conor is one of the sweetest, welcoming, and thought-provoking creatives I’ve ever met. Within this episode we chat about the journey it was to make Fever Dreams into a reality, the importance of finding inspiration from people who’ve lived differently than you, and we also partake in one of my favorite things of all time: catching up with an old friend.
I’m also happy to finally announce that season 3 of the podcast will be premiering on September 14th! I am beyond proud of this next season that I’ve made and I can honestly say that each episode beautifully encapsulates what this series is all about. When starting this podcast, it was so important for me that even though I’d largely be talking to creatives, that the stories always echoed beyond creative fields, that you don’t need to be an artist to relate to the people I have on the podcast; and that’s massively clear within this upcoming third season. Be sure to subscribe to the podcast where ever you stream podcasts and please, also rate and leave a review on Apple Podcasts, it helps big time!
After you hear the episode, be sure to check out Circles In The Firing Line on the official New Exchange Playlist. Also, follow Villagers on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
