Winter Bonus: Palace

There was a moment on this episode that took me aback more than I expected it to. The context is the discussion of “fear” and how it can envelop our very lives. It’s sad to say, but three men talking about fear openly within western-society is undoubtedly not the norm, and it’s with that acknowledgment that I feel very excited about sharing today’s episode with Leo Wyndham (vocals/guitars) and Rupert Turner (guitars) of the British indie band, Palace.

One of the qualities that stands out with Palace is how deeply they care about the art they put out into the world, which comes across in spades with their latest album, Shoals (which is out now). Those multitudes of fear that I brought up earlier are explored brilliantly on Shoals, particularly how the band were able to present the different shades of color that fear can unexpectedly produce within our lives. On this episode, we explore the work that went into making Shoals a reality and how the pandemic played a challenging factor in bringing this album to life.

After you hear the episode, be sure to check out Palace’s track Where Sky Becomes Sea on the official New Exchange Playlist. Also, follow Palace on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
