Welcome to season 2 of The New Exchange! After a small break, I feel recharged and it’s so damn great being back. There are a diverse array of incredible talks coming to you this season and it’s a true privilege getting to kick off this season with Arlo Parks. Over the last 3 years, Arlo has already achieved so much with her music career, with all roads leading to her recently released debut album, Collapsed In Sunbeams. Throughout the album, she infuses her personal lyrics with melodies that’ll be in your head all day. It all feels effortless and yet the hard work is on full display. It’s only February, but it’s clear that Collapsed In Sunbeams is already a firm standout in 2021.

On this episode, I chat with Arlo about how writing has played a crucial role in her life, how she’s helped people who suffer with depression and anxiety with her music (particularly with her song, Black Dog) and all the work that went into making her debut album a reality.

Follow Arlo Parks on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
