Before we jump into today’s bonus episode, I’m happy to announce that season 2 of The New Exchange will begin on February 16th! I truly cannot wait for you to hear it; I’m so proud of the talks within season 2!

Now onto today’s special episode! Throughout 2020 I found myself obsessed with the sophomore album of French rock band, Last Train. That album is called The Big Picture and it’s easily one of the most ambitious albums I’ve heard in a loooong time. The songs on The Big Picture reminded me how exhilarating rock music can be, how you can have brash moments of aggression exist next to somber moments to reflection in equal measures of prominence. What’s truly remarkable about the band is how they’re four friends who’ve carved out their own paths; never once expecting anything to be handed to them.

On today’s episode, I’m joined by bassist Timothée Gerard and drummer Antoine Baschung to chat about the band’s history and how their friendship rests at the core of their bold approach to music.

Last Train are a rock band from France who're beautifully ambitious. The proof is in their stellar sophomore album, The Big Picture, a body of work that blends brash aggression with somber moments of reflection.
