Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes

My favorite thing about this podcast is that it doesn’t take long for our episodes to get personal. Today’s chat with Frank Carter is a prime example that and I can’t wait for you to hear it. If you’re unfamiliar, Frank Carter is a British singer/songwriter who is one of the most prolific punk musicians in the UK. He’s best known for how he wears his heart on his sleeve, both on stage and off. This has been in full display during Frank’s time with Gallows and his current ambitious project, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes; but one of the most incredible things about him is his insatiable appetite for art. A beautiful way that’s flourished has been his career as a respected tattoo artist; which also led him to open his shop, Rose of Mercy.

Located off Hoxton Street in London, Rose of Mercy is a creative safe space for people of all genders, ages, races, and religions; ultimately being a place where people can express themselves in ways they rarely can in everyday life. The shop’s mantra is “always in bloom, bloom in all ways” and while editing this talk, it was shocking to me just how much that mantra operated like a guiding light for this episode. Together we explore the reasons that led to Frank creating this space and what it actually looks like to make that into a reality.

We also chat about the most recent Rattlesnakes album, Sticky, which features the band playing at their most refined form yet. If you’re in Europe, you’ll be able to catch Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes across numerous music festivals, with a proper tour kicking off later this autumn; starting on November 4th in Sweden. Visit the band’s website for more info.

After you hear the episode, be sure to check out Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes track Go Get a Tattoo (Featuring Lynks) on the official New Exchange Playlist. Also, be sure to follow Rose of Mercy over on Instagram and Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes on Spotify, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
